Basic Work Required to Build a Power Plant
A power plant is a factory that converts various primary energy sources stored in nature into electrical energy. A power station is a place where other forms of energy are converted into electrical energy. For example, a hydroelectric power station converts water energy into electrical energy, a thermal power station converts heat energy from burning garbage into electrical energy, a nuclear power station converts nuclear energy into electrical energy, and a solar power plant converts solar energy into electrical energy.
I、Importance of Power Stations
Power stations play a vital role in modern society, not only ensuring energy supply, but also promoting environmental protection and economic development.
1. Providing Electric Energy:
Power stations can convert fossil energy, hydropower, nuclear energy, etc. into electric energy to provide electricity for electrical appliances used in daily life and industrial production.
2. Stabilizing the Power Grid:
Power stations can maintain the stable operation of the power grid by adjusting power output to ensure that there will be no problems such as voltage instability or power outages when people use electrical appliances.
3. Improving the Environment:
Renewable energy power stations (such as wind power generation, solar power generation, etc.) use renewable energy, do not produce a large amount of pollutants, and can improve the environment.
4. Promoting Economic Development:
The construction of power stations requires a lot of investment and manpower, which can drive the development of related industries and promote economic development.
5. Promoting Energy Transformation:
As an efficient, clean and renewable energy source, tower solar thermal power stations play an important role in the national energy transformation strategy.
II、Workflow
Power plant construction is a complex engineering project involving multiple stages and links. The following is the basic process of power station construction:
Step 1: Preliminary Investigation of the Project
Before the construction of a power station, it is necessary to investigate the project terrain and roof resources, surrounding environmental conditions, grid structure and annual load, load consumption capacity, voltage level of the access system, access interval verification, etc. It is also necessary to determine the length of the transmission line, corridor conditions and the policies of the local power grid company.
Step 2: Preliminary Materials and Approval Documents for Project Construction
A. Feasibility Study Stage
Entrust a qualified unit to conduct feasibility study and analysis of large-scale photovoltaic grid-connected power station projects and project filing application reports.
B. Obtain Approval Documents From Relevant Departments
It requires the approval document for grid access from the provincial power company, the land preliminary review opinion from the provincial land and resources department and the registration form for geological disaster assessment that does not cover important mineral resources, the site selection opinion and site planning opinion from the provincial construction department, the site selection opinion letter from the cultural relics department, the approval of the environmental impact report form from the environmental protection department, the approval of the safety evaluation form from the work safety supervision bureau, and the approval of the soil and water conservation plan from the water conservancy department.
C. Obtain Construction Permit
Handle bank fund certificate for construction projects (not less than 20% of the total project investment), handle loan intent or loan agreement between construction projects and banks (not more than 80% of the total project investment), entrust a qualified unit to do project design, and obtain construction permit from the construction bureau of the project construction site.
Step 3: Project Construction Drawing Design
Energy storage solution design on-site mapping, geological survey, boundary survey, and design requirements; preparation of access system report and review at the meeting; production of general construction blueprint; drawing of various disciplines (structure, civil engineering, electrical, etc.); signing of technical agreements with various manufacturers; on-site technical disclosure, drawing review; feasibility study review of transmission line at the meeting, and grid opinions.
Step 4: Project Site Construction
In order to ensure the normal operation of the power plant, we need to purchase high-efficiency power plant equipment; and build basic areas such as energy storage power station area and living area. More importantly, we need to install, debug and test all equipment, install electrical monitoring, fire protection equipment, security monitoring cameras, etc. Finally, we need to connect and test the cable laying of all equipment.
Step 5:Project Post-Acceptance
The acceptance before completion requires the acceptance of provincial and municipal power construction project quality supervision stations and other departments and the review of the power station commissioning plan. And an agreement must be signed with relevant departments before the unit can be connected to the grid. The power station is officially put into commercial operation and the acceptance and handover book is signed; the power station can be put into operation after the grid-related test is completed.
Conclusion
The entire construction process of a power station is very complicated and requires the coordinated work of multiple departments, so it is very unrealistic for an individual to undertake the construction. It is best to find a professional construction company that builds power plants. In addition, power plants can bring a lot of convenience to the local area, provide jobs, and increase economic income.
